Position Summary

KDBA is located in the hills, east of Perth with a growing membership of around 3,000 players across domestic, WABL and NBL1 programs. Our mission: “Through basketball, we connect and inspire our community to achieve and maximise their potential”. 

This is a rare opportunity to lead a Western Australian basketball organisation as its Chief Executive Officer.

Reporting directly to the Board, the CEO is responsible for driving the Association's vision, leading its people, and delivering outstanding outcomes across participation, high performance, commercial growth and community engagement. From overseeing Domestic Competition, WABL, NBL1 and development programs to building strategic partnerships, managing the Ray Owen Sports Centre and leading a talented staff team, this role sits at the centre of every aspect of the organisation.

With genuine autonomy and a clear mandate to build on strong foundations, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape organisational culture, strengthen financial sustainability, foster innovation, and position KDBA and the Eastern Suns for long-term success. For an experienced executive, this is more than a CEO role - it is an opportunity to influence the future of basketball in one of Western Australia's fastest-growing sporting communities.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership of basketball programs
  • Lead organisational growth and sustainability
  • Provide strategic leadership of the Association's facilities and venue operations, mainly Ray Owen Sports Centre
  • Build and lead a high-performing workforce
  • Champion the Association's brand and community engagement
  • Ensure strong governance, compliance and risk management

Salary & Hours

The CEO is a permanent full time position, a salary package to represent the scope of responsibility and contribution to the club is offered.

Due to the nature and responsibility of this role, flexibility of working hours will be required.
