Lacrosse Australia is the national governing body for lacrosse in Australia, responsible for leading the growth, development and promotion of the sport across all levels. Working in partnership with its State Member Associations, clubs and World Lacrosse, Lacrosse Australia delivers national competitions, high-performance pathways and participation programs that support athletes from entry-level through to international representation.
Lacrosse is a fast-paced, skill-based team sport played by men and women, with opportunities ranging from introductory school programs such as Quick Stix through to elite national teams competing on the world stage. The sport continues to grow in Australia, with a strong focus on participation, visibility and capability building across the game. As part of the global return of lacrosse to the Olympic program for LA 2028, Lacrosse Australia is focused on expanding its fan base, increasing participation and strengthening pathways to support future Australian success on the international stage.

Role Description
Lacrosse Australia is seeking expressions of interest from female candidates to join our Finance, Audit & Risk Committee (FAR Committee) - supporting the Board to ensure strong financial oversight, risk management, and compliance across the organisation. This vacancy is being filled by a female candidate to help Lacrosse Australia meet the gender balance requirements of the ASC Governance Standards. This appointment also supports our broader commitment to the Standard's principles of independent expertise and transparent, skills-based recruitment.
About the FAR Committee
The FAR Committee assists the Board by overseeing:
- The integrity and preparation of LA's financial statements
- Internal controls, policies, and risk management systems
- Insurance activities and the organisational risk profile
- The performance, independence, and engagement of the External Auditor
- LA's compliance with legal, regulatory, and policy requirements

Who We're Looking For
We are inviting applications from female candidates with strong financial literacy and experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Accounting, finance, audit, or risk management
- Governance, compliance, or regulatory oversight
- Strategic, operational, or enterprise risk
- Insurance, financial controls, or organisational systems
- Board or committee experience (sport, not-for-profit, or corporate) - desirable but not essential
Term & Commitment
- Annual appointment, with eligibility for reappointment
- Rotation is encouraged to support good governance
- Volunteer role, attending up to four online meetings per year, with some additional time expected for reviewing papers and financial reports between meetings
