Description

The Finance Manager is a hands-on role in a lean not-for-profit National Sporting Organisation, taking ownership of day-to-day financial management, practical decision-ready reporting, transparency and compliance while supporting the CEO and Board with clear financial insights.

The Finance Manager role is offered as a Part-Time, 0.5 FTE position with remuneration pro-rata to $120k plus super.

You can operate independently, prioritise effectively, and deliver high-quality outputs without unnecessary complexity.

The duties of the Finance Manager include, but are not limited to the following:

Financial Operations

  • Manage core finance administration activities including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll oversight
  • Ensure accurate and timely month-end close

Reporting & Board Support

  • Deliver monthly management accounts and Board reporting
  • Provide clear, concise variance analysis and insights

Budgeting, Forecasting & Cashflow

  • Lead annual budgeting process
  • Review of operational budgets
  • Support event forecasts and tracking
  • Maintain rolling forecasts and cash flow visibility

Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, ATO and not-for-profit requirements
  • Manage external audit and statutory reporting
  • Be part of the Finance, Audit & Risk Management Committee

Grants & Funding

  • Track and report on grant funding and acquittals
  • Support funding submissions with financial input

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Maintain finance systems (e.g. Xero)
  • Improve reporting efficiency and internal controls
