Are you passionate about rowing and take pride in keeping equipment, facilities and athletes safe and performing at their best?

MLC School is seeking an experienced and proactive Casual Boatshed Manager to support the delivery of our highly regarded rowing program.

orking closely with the Head of Program (Rowing), you will play a key role in the safe, efficient and compliant operation of the boatshed, fleet and rowing equipment. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who enjoys practical work, problem-solving and being involved in a thriving school sporting environment.

About the Role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining and repairing rowing boats, oars, trailers, outboards and associated equipment
  • Conducting routine safety inspections and ensuring equipment meets required standards
  • Managing boatshed operations, inventory and equipment storage
  • Coordinating servicing and repairs with external providers
  • Supporting transport logistics for training sessions, regattas and camps
  • Assisting with risk management and the implementation of safety procedures
  • Providing guidance on the safe handling and use of rowing equipment
  • Being available for urgent equipment repairs during regattas and rowing events
  • The safe driving, loading, unloading and towing of all vehicles, boats and trailers at all sessions including regattas and camps.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Practical boat maintenance and repair skills
  • A current NSW Boat Licence
  • Rowing Australia Level 1 Accreditation
  • Current First Aid and CPR qualifications
  • Experience working within a rowing club, school rowing program or similar environment
  • Experience towing boat trailers and transporting rowing equipment
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • A commitment to student wellbeing and child safety
