Are you an organised and enthusiastic sports coach, teacher or activity leader who enjoys helping young people develop?
Northbridge Knockouts is seeking a Training & Coaching Coordinator to help manage and deliver our competitive and recreational jump rope program. Working alongside our Head Coach, you will coordinate training sessions, lead and support our team of young athlete coaches, and help create a safe, positive and well-organised environment for participants ranging from beginners to international-level athletes.
No previous skipping experience is required. Training and support in skipping-specific skills and session delivery will be provided.
The role may suit a university student, aspiring or practising teacher, community sports coach, fitness instructor, gymnastics coach, dancer, former athlete, or someone experienced in leading sporting or recreational activities for children and young people.
About the Role
Working alongside our Head Coach and skipping coaches, you will assist in coordinating and delivering training sessions for skippers ranging from beginners through to national and international level athletes.
Training sessions are held during NSW school terms:
- Tuesday: 4:30pm - 7:30pm
- Thursday: 4:30pm - 7:30pm
- Sunday: 3:00pm - 5:30pm
Training sessions are conducted at Northbridge Public School Hall. The role is available to commence as soon as practicable, with a preference for commencement by the start of Term 4.
Ideally, the successful applicant will be available for all three weekly sessions during NSW school terms, although applications from candidates with availability for most sessions will also be considered.
What You'll Be Doing
You will help ensure each session is organised, appropriately staffed and running effectively. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting and coordinating skipping training sessions
- Leading a group of young athlete coaches and supporting them to effectively manage training groups
- Motivating and mentoring children, teenagers and young adults
- Assisting athletes to develop skills, fitness and confidence
- Maintaining attendance records and coaching plans
- Ensuring a safe, inclusive and positive training environment
- Assisting with equipment setup and pack down.

- Experience in coaching, teaching, youth work, sports administration, fitness, gymnastics, dance or coordinating group activities is highly regarded.
- NSW Working With Children Check (mandatory).
