West Harbour Rugby Club is seeking Expressions of Interest for the position of Grade Development Coach for the 2027 season.
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and aspirational coach looking to take the next step in their coaching career and use the role as a platform to develop their coaching experience within a high-performance senior rugby environment.
West Harbour Rugby Club is on the move. We are committed to building a club that is recognised for its high-performance environment, strong standards and clear expectations, both on and off the field. The Grade Development Coach will play an important role in helping drive this direction within our Grade program.
The successful candidate will lead the West Harbour 3rd Grade program, with a strong focus on player development and preparing emerging players for progression into 2nd and 1st Grade. A key focus will be strengthening the connection between 3rd and 2nd Grade, ensuring greater alignment in coaching, playing philosophy, standards and expectations.
The Grade Development Coach will work closely with the Head Coach and Senior Coaching Group, with the opportunity to engage closely with our top squad and senior coaching environment. This will provide valuable exposure and development for an ambitious coach while helping create a more connected pathway throughout the Grade program.
The role will also play an important part in supporting the transition of players graduating from Colts into Grade Rugby, identifying emerging talent and helping players reach their potential.
The Coach We Are Looking For
We are looking for a coach who is passionate about developing players, eager to learn, ambitious in their own coaching journey and committed to creating a positive, professional and high-performance environment.
Importantly, the successful candidate must be organised, prepared and willing to take ownership of the program. They will be expected to actively drive the standards, expectations, preparation and accountability of the 3rd Grade group and ensure players understand what is required to perform and develop within the West Harbour Grade program.
This is an opportunity for a coach who wants to do more than simply run training sessions. We are looking for someone who wants to contribute to the broader program, develop players, establish strong relationships with the senior coaching group and play a genuine role in raising the standards of the club.
We aim to appoint the successful candidate by October 2026, providing an opportunity to build relationships with graduating Colts players, contribute to recruitment and retention, and become involved in planning for the 2027 pre-season commencing in November.
Remuneration: Remuneration will be determined based on the successful applicant’s experience, qualifications and suitability for the role.
