Description

Melbourne University Soccer Club (MUSC) is looking for a volunteer Technical Director to provide strategic football leadership across all our squads, from social and masters football through to our highest competing sides in the VPL, MSL and WSL.

This isn't a coaching role. It's a strategic leadership position focused on lifting on-field performance and professionalism club-wide, working across every squad rather than any single team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and embed a unified MUSC football philosophy across all senior squads
  • Lead coach recruitment, appointment, review and development across the club
  • Maintain clear player pathways from social and masters football through to competitive squads
  • Set season goals and KPIs with Head Coaches, and track performance against them
  • Act as the club's primary football contact for Football Victoria
  • Support governance, compliance and budget management for the football program

Reporting: Reports to the MUSC Committee, with Head Coaches across all squads (men's, women's, masters and social) reporting to this role.

About you:

  • Significant experience in football coaching and/or football administration
  • Demonstrated leadership across multiple teams or a coaching program
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Comfortable operating strategically rather than day to day on the training pitch
  • Formal coaching accreditation, experience in a volunteer-run or member-based club, existing Victorian football networks, and budget/committee reporting experience are all highly regarded

Time commitment: Across the MUSC season, with attendance at key training sessions, matches, coach review meetings and relevant Committee meetings. Specific hours and honorarium to be discussed as part of the appointment process.
