Sydney University Cricket Club is looking for a reliable, organised and enthusiastic Match Day Manager to take responsibility for the smooth delivery of home match days throughout the cricket season.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys cricket, working with people and taking ownership of the many moving parts that make a successful match day.

About Sydney University Cricket Club

With more than 160 years of history, Sydney University Cricket Club (SUCC) is one of Australia’s oldest and most established cricket clubs, with a proud tradition of participation and success in NSW Premier Cricket.

Based at the University of Sydney’s Camperdown Campus, SUCC provides opportunities for both men and women to compete across Premier Cricket and other competitions, from emerging players through to elite-level cricketers.

The Club combines a strong performance culture with the community and traditions of university sport and is supported by Sydney Uni Sport.

About the Role

Reporting to the General Manager of Sydney University Cricket Club, the Match Day Manager plays an important role in ensuring our home fixtures are professionally organised and provide a welcoming experience for players, officials and visitors.

You will be the key operational contact on match days, overseeing everything from venue preparation and hospitality through to live streaming and securing the facility at the end of play.

Key Responsibilities

  • Host all home match days, ensuring officials and teams are well looked after
  • Manage all canteen duties, including weekly stock and ordering, and coordination of lunch and tea
  • Set up and monitor the live stream on match days (training provided)
  • Carry out all match day manager duties as set out by NSW Premier Cricket
  • Secure and lock up the facility at the end of each match day.

Shift Requirements

This is a casual, seasonal role operating primarily throughout the cricket season.

  • Shifts are primarily Saturdays and Sundays, with occasional midweek fixtures
  • Typical match-day hours are approximately 8.00am-6.00pm
  • Finish times may vary depending on match and weather conditions
  • There is generally a 2-3 week break over the Christmas/New Year period

About You

We are looking for someone who is dependable, practical and comfortable taking responsibility for match-day operations.

You will have:

  • A current NSW Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) competency
  • A current NSW Working with Children Check - Employee
  • Strong computer skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • A practical, calm approach to solving problems as they arise
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • The ability to work independently and use initiative
  • A high level of reliability and punctuality
  • A genuine passion for cricket
  • Strong working knowledge of all cricket formats played in Premier Cricket
