The nib Newcastle Knights are a professional Rugby League Football Club competing in the NRL Premiership, proudly owned by The Wests Group Australia- a locally owned, not-for-profit membership-based organisation. About the Role
The Newcastle Knights are currently seeking Strength and Conditioning Coaches to join our Junior Pathways Program, including roles across the Andrew Johns, Laurie Daley, Harold Matthews, SG Ball, Lisa Fiaola and Tarsha Gale Squads. Successful applicants will work closely with the Head of Athletic Development and High-Performance Staff to design and deliver the strength, power, speed and conditioning programs aligned the “Knights Way” Physical Performance Philosophy.
Key Responsibilities
- Support monitoring of Athlete Loads and Wellness
- Assist with programming and lead the delivery of athletic development content to Junior Repreentative Teams ensuring key focus areas and qualities are being trained and developed
- Attend and Assist with all Training Sessions and Game Days
- Report directly to the Head of Athletic Development
- Participate in Program Planning Meetings
Availability
- Pre-season: 3 evenings per week
- In-season: 3 evenings per week plus Game Day
Ideal Candidate
- Currently studying or completed a degree in Exercise & Sport Science or a related field
- A strong desire to pursue a career in high-performance sport
- ASCA Level 1 or Level 2 S&C Coach (or working towards it)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Previous experience working with adolescent athletes is highly regarded
Remuneration
Positions will be honorarium-based, depending on role and experience.
