Northern Gold Coast Touch is seeking a motivated and organised volunteer to take on the role of Phoenix Coordinator.
The Phoenix Program is an important part of NGCT’s competition structure, providing established teams with a clear pathway to build their identity, remain connected to the club and continue progressing through junior and senior competitions.
The Phoenix Coordinator will work closely with the NGCT Competition Coordinator to oversee the program and support its continued growth.
About the Role
The Phoenix Coordinator will work closely with the NGCT Competition Coordinator to oversee the Phoenix Program and support its continued development.
This is a volunteer role, with the busiest periods occurring in the lead-up to and beginning of each competition term. Once the competition is underway, the role becomes more focused on general team support, communication and future planning.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting eligible NGCT teams transitioning into the Phoenix Program
- Ensuring Phoenix and NGCT teams have active delegates, managers or coordinators
- Maintaining regular communication with team representatives
- Supporting the development of Phoenix teams across junior and senior competitions
- Helping junior Phoenix teams transition into senior competitions
- Assisting Little Legends teams as they progress through the NGCT pathway
- Supporting the organisation of training sessions and development opportunities
- Assisting with the recruitment of coaches and team coordinators where required
- Helping strengthen the Phoenix identity within NGCT
- Managing Phoenix uniform and equipment stock, including stocktakes, jersey sizes and quantities
- Supporting team preparation and resolving registration or team issues before the start of each term
About You
We are looking for someone who is organised, reliable and enjoys being involved in community sport.
You will be confident communicating with players, parents, coaches and team managers and comfortable working closely with the NGCT Competition Coordinator.
You will ideally:
- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Be organised and able to manage multiple tasks
- Have good attention to detail
- Be comfortable assisting with uniforms, equipment and stock management
- Be approachable and willing to support teams and volunteers
- Be enthusiastic about growing and strengthening the Phoenix Program
- Have an interest in creating a positive club environment and improving long-term team retention
Previous experience in touch football, coaching, team management or sports administration would be beneficial, but is not essential.
Time Commitment
This is a volunteer position, with most of the workload occurring around registrations, team preparation, uniform distribution and the beginning of each competition term.
The time commitment reduces once the competition is underway.
