Description
The Community Surf Lifesaving Certificate update refreshes candidate’s skills and knowledge enabling them to be able to continue to supervise students not only in the surf but in all natural water environments. The course consists of both theory and practical components, and covers the following topics:
- Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (accredited)
- Personal safety and wellbeing
- Surf awareness and skills
- Communication
- Rescue techniques
- Planning a beach visit
- Carries and supports
Course outcome:
Upon successful course completion, candidates will also receive a Statement of Attainment for the following unit of competency:
- HLTAID009 - Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- PUASAR013 - Participate in an aquatic rescue operation
- PUASAR012 - Apply surf awareness and self rescue skills
