Overview
The Professional Certificate Succeeding as a Player Agent course is for current agents looking to upskill, people considering becoming agents in the future and those looking to learn about what it takes to succeed as a player agent. Participants will hear first hand from former Player Agent Brad Lloyd about what it takes to survive and thrive as a Player Agent in an increasingly competitive environment.
The course will take your through six key topic areas:
- What does a Player Agent do?
- How to acquire high end talent
- Finding the right fit between player and club
- Negotiating Contracts and Agreements
- Marketing, Media & Sponsorship Agreements
- Key actions to long term success as a Player Agent
Presenter—Brad Lloyd
Brad played football at Hawthorn from 1997 to 1999 and was captain of VFL club Williamstown where he played from 2000 to 2006, including a premiership in 2003. He worked as an AFL player agent for Elite Sports Properties from 2001-2008 looking after the playing contracts and marketing of ESP AFL clients. Brad joined Fremantle in 2008 in the role of National Recruiting Manager, responsible for the club's National, Preseason and Rookie drafts.
At the end of 2008, Brad was appointed to the senior management team and was General Manager List Management. Brad’s core responsibilities were to oversee the clubs player contracting, player retention & player acquisition. That role included responsibility for the national recruiting network and executing the club's drafting process. Brad is currently the Head of Football for Carlton.
Format
The Centre for Athlete and Sports Education courses are delivered via Live Zoom Workshops plus Pre and Post Course Online Activities in our Learning Management System to provide a rich educational experience that can be accessed from any location at any time. If you are unable to attend the Zoom workshop/s they recorded and available in the online portal to watch for 7 days post workshop.
