About the Role
Reporting to the Chief Growth Officer, the Workforce Development Manager plays a key part in providing quality learning experiences with regards to hockey education across Australia. They will be responsible for developing and implementing the National Workforce Development Plan that aims to increase the capability and capacity of our volunteers and paid workforce. This includes working collaboratively with stakeholders to create development opportunities for coaches and officials.
The Workforce Development Manager will also play a key role in developing the content for training courses and designing learning outcomes for participants including athletes, coaching staff, support personnel and other volunteers. They will be responsible for the ongoing management of the national Learning Management System (LMS), along with providing the whole hockey community with modern and relevant education.
Key Accountabilities
- Support Hockey Australia’s Member Associations in the development and implementation of Coach & Officials Development Programs.
- Work collaboratively with the Hockey Australia High Performance department to provide development opportunities for aspiring performance coaches.
- Support organisational departments in developing various educational resources to create understanding and awareness across the hockey network.
- Develop and lead the HA Workforce development strategy for Volunteers and paid workforce within Hockey.
- Support Member Associations in the implementation of the Whole of Sport Play Well Participation Strategy.
- Oversee the ongoing management of Hockey Australia’s LMS platform in partnership with etrainu.
- Manage the ongoing development & implementation of Hockey Australia’s Accreditation Framework including the development of content.

Remuneration
Hockey Australia will offer $75,000 - $87,000 salary plus superannuation dependent upon the successful applicant's skills and experience.
Experience, Skills and Attributes
- Tertiary qualifications in teaching, human resource management, educational leadership or sport management are desirable for this role.
- Similar experience within the sporting industry will be highly regarded.
- Interstate Travel will be required to fulfil the inherent requirements of the role.
- Experience in working in and maintaining learning management systems.
- Must have a good understanding of the ASC’s Modern Approach to Coaching and Officiating.
- Must be experienced in developing learning content for courses and / or learning design.
- Excellent presentation and facilitation skills.
- Strong end-user focus and stakeholder management ability.
