Purpose

NSW Waratahs are looking for an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach for the Super Rugby Women’s competition.

Key Accountabilities

Women’s Team

  • Provide coaching assistance to the NSW Waratahs Women’s Head of Athletic Performance and assist with meeting performance targets
  • Assist with preparing and managing the state team for the national Super Rugby Women's competition
  • Drive player performance plans, match previews and review sessions for forwards units
  • Be available for all training sessions
    • Pre-Christmas: November to December, 2024
      • Monday evenings
      • Wednesday evenings
    • Post-Christmas: January to April, 2025
      • Monday afternoons and evenings
      • Wednesday afternoons and evenings
      • Thursday evenings
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and review of the state women’s program
  • Provide leadership and support through program delivery for the direction of a NSW Coaching Strategy

Capabilities, Experience & Qualification Requirements

Capabilities

  • Display and carry out the character and values that represent the NSW Rugby Union
  • Posses specific technical knowledge of individual and team principles including techniques and coaching trends
  • Have effective interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to liaise with a wide range of stakeholders including athletes, management, program coordinators and administrators
  • Able to effectively contribute to a team and work towards achieving outcomes
  • Able to travel locally, domestically and internationally for both competition and training purposes
  • Be extremely reliable, punctual and thorough
  • Able to commit to the training and competition requirements
  • Demonstrate confident and effective communication and presentation skills

Experience

  • Strength & conditioning coaching experience at a semi professional or state level through the Country Rugby Union, Sydney Rugby Union or any NSW Rugby Union player pathways
    • (Coaches that are already appointed to coaching roles within these pathways are able to apply)
  • Demonstrated experience developing athletes in a performance based rugby union environment

Qualification Requirements

  • Current ASCA Level 2 and above coaching accreditation is essential
