Eastern Suburbs District Rugby Club (ESDRUFC) is one of the premier rugby clubs in Australia, playing in the prestigious Shute Shield competition. We are looking for an ambitious, hard working, and collaborative General Manager to take the club's gameday experience, membership, sponsorship and facilities to the next level. After an exceptional 2024 season, which saw us crowned Shute Shield champions, ESDRUFC is poised for sustained on-field and off-field success.
Key Responsibilities
Game Day & Events
Drive increased game day attendance, creating an exceptional experience for families and young audiences, appealing to both rugby enthusiasts and casual visitors.
Lead the planning and delivery of the club's 125th Anniversary Dinner in 2025, expected to host 500 guests.
Launch an annual 7s tournament at Easts, the Sydney 7s
Ensure all club events reflect our commitment to community engagement and operational excellence.
Sponsorship
Collaborate with the Board to secure new sponsorships, leveraging ESDRUFC’s strong on-field reputation and community presence.
Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing sponsors, ensuring value delivery and continued partnerships with leading companies.
Membership
Develop and execute initiatives to grow club membership, including targeted campaigns and engagement programs.
Enhance the member experience through high-quality service and tailored communications.
Facilities Development
Oversee the execution of the club’s facilities master plan, including:
The 2025 commencement of new changerooms and medical rooms.
Future plans for a 1,000-seat grandstand.
Ensure projects align with the club’s long-term vision and operational needs.
Financial Management
Ensure that the club operates within the budget set by the board

Founded in 1900, ESDRUFC is one of Australia’s premier rugby clubs, competing in the prestigious Shute Shield. With 10 senior teams (men’s and women’s) and a thriving junior program of over 400 players, the club has a rich history and a strong community presence. Our home ground in Rose Bay boasts a vibrant 700m² clubhouse operating six days a week.
