About Us

The Rowing Association of Western Australia Inc (Rowing WA) is the State Sporting Association responsible for the development, promotion and governance of the sport of rowing throughout Western Australia. Rowing WA is a not for profit organisation which is governed by the Board of Rowing WA.

Rowing WA is one of seven State/Territory Associations, which make up the membership of the national body, Rowing Australia.

Position Overview

This position will manage the day-to-day delivery of Rowing WA’s regattas and events portfolio. It will also deliver club, coach, official and athlete development initiatives that enhance the recruitment and retention pathways for each of these stakeholder groups.

Additionally, this role is responsible for driving member engagement through effective communication strategies across Rowing WA’s digital platforms, newsletters, website and other member-focused channels. It involves delivering engaging content, maintaining a consistent online presence, and ensuring timely and accurate dissemination of information to members, stakeholders, and the public.

The position requires a highly motivated and energetic individual with strong communication, relationship-building, event management, and organisational skills. The ability to forge a close working relationship with Rowing WA affiliated bodies, staff, volunteers, and other key stakeholders will be essential to the successful achievement of this position’s objectives.

Term and Hours of Work

The role is a full time permanent position working 38 hours per week.  The nature of the position will require out of hours and weekend work and regular travel to clubs and schools

Salary and Benefits

  • Up to $70,000 per annum (plus superannuation)

Essential Requirements

  • Working with Children / Working with Vulnerable People Check
  • Drivers Licence
  • Previous experience related to the delivery of sporting (or other) events
  • Previous experience or demonstrated knowledge in the delivery of sport development outcomes including programs focussed on participation, clubs, coaches, officials and/or volunteers
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) and relationship building skills
  • Effective time management skills, ability to meet deadlines and prioritise tasks
  • A positive “can-do” attitude with the ability to be solutions focused
  • Excellent computer skills and information technology literacy
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as actively contribute within a small team environment
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
  • Open Drivers Licence
  • Current Working with Children Check (or ability to apply prior to commencement in role)

Desirable Criteria

  • Knowledge and understanding of the sport of rowing
