The role

'She Hoops' is the Basketball Australia's flagship 'Women and Girls' program and platform designed to enhance and engage the participation, experience and connection of women and girls in basketball in the community. She Hoops delivers a program across all State's and Territories as well as online via the integrated platform. 

We are excited to be seeking a passionate and experienced person to work with our current small, talented team, in a fast paced, multiple stakeholder environment to support She Hoops programs and initiatives. The role is available for immediate start, casual appointment initially to deliver the scheduled activities over this next busy couple of months, working in Melbourne.  

General duties

Provide a high level of operational and administrative support to plan the delivery of programs, projects and events associated with She Hoops and Women & Girls Basketball Programs including:

  • She Hoops Community Holiday Camps, around Australia
  • Leadership & Confidence Scholarships, nationally.
  • Small to large events, including venue hire, invitations, running sheets, set up, communications
  • Seminars podcasts, education sessions for women online.

Plan and administer the logistics of basketball activities including booking venues, travel booking, transport, accommodation and liaison with the local basketball associations.

Engaging and managing communication and liaison with key internal and external stakeholders including State & Territory Basketball Associations, local clubs, athletes, coaches.

Ordering and management of uniforms, merchandise, equipment or inventory for all She Hoops events, activities etc.

Maintain and enhance planning of content on the She Hoops Platform and social media (Instagram & LinkedIn) including where necessary posting content enhance visibility of She Hoops programs through all digital channels.

Hours and location

It is anticipated the role will be up to 38 hours per week.

The role will be based in Melbourne, working from the State Basketball Centre in Wantirna South. BA practices flexible work practices.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role you will be an exceptional team player, a highly effective communicator, a born organiser, a solution finder and you will understand that effective stakeholder relationships is the key to success.

You will also have:

  • Relevant tertiary or Diploma/Certificate level qualification
  • Professional work experience in a similar role in basketball, planning, delivering and managing the administration of programs.
  • Demonstrated work success developing and maintaining relationships with multiple stakeholders that creates solutions that work for everyone.
  • Previous experience in posting content on social media platforms and accounts.
  • Experience in developing and planning reporting and presentations using MS Office.
  • Current Working with Children Check or Vulnerable People Check.
  • Drivers Licenece required.
