The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has awarded Football Australia hosting rights for the 2026 edition of the AFC Women's Asian Cup™. This marks Australia's second time hosting the event, after previously staging it in 2006, and follows the success of co-hosting the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup™.
You will be part of a Local Organising Committee (LOC), which has been established for the sole purpose of delivering the 2026 edition of the AFC Women's Asian Cup™ in Australia.
This prestigious event will bring together 12 nations in a tournament structured into three groups of four. We are eager to create another tournament that celebrates women's football and multicultural Australia and also delivers legacy outcomes for football and Australian society more broadly.

Your Next Big Match
Please note that this role is fixed term until April 2026.
- Managing the planning and implementation of AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026™ safety and security obligations and coordinate stadiums and non-competition venues safety and security activities to meet AFC regulations and the relevant tournament requirements in Australia.
- Leading the development of integrated safety and security planning principles and service levels that will ensure efficient, effective and coordinated planning and delivery at all stadiums and non-competition venues.
- Ability to develop and implement quality stadium and non-competition venues safety and security solutions inclusive of resourcing, dot planning, budget, program area operational plans, SOPs, processes, policy and procedures, manuals, tenders, contracts, and operating budgets.
- A high-level understanding of security, threat, and risk implications in major sporting events and with international sporting teams.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in managing third party private security companies and contractors.

What Gets You in the Game?
- Proven and demonstrated track record in planning and delivering security operations for major international sporting events, including stadiums, training venues, and non-competition sites.
- Must have experience in stadium security and successfully led a comprehensive security programme for major sporting events across stadiums and Non-Competition Venues.
- Appropriate and relevant qualifications and extensive experience in security/risk management as well as managing and coordinating security operations in a complex structure, across multiple environments.
- Demonstrated and proven experience in developing strategic, tactical and operational safety and security suite of documentation specific to major sporting events.
- Proven leadership experience, with demonstrated ability to manage cross functional security teams, oversee complex operations, and drive organisational success.
- Must demonstrate the ability to work with agility, foster trust, embrace inclusivity, collaborate as one united team, and consistently strive for excellence.

- International Criminal History Record for each country (other than Australia) in which you have resided for 12 months or more in the last 10 years (if applicable)
