The primary objective of the Sport Development Coordinator is to facilitate the growth and development of Boccia at a grassroots level. This role will implement strategies and programs that promote participation, talent identification and athlete development.
Key Accountabilities
Participation Development
Understand the key drivers and focus areas of the BA Participation Strategy and ensure state based alignment for mutual outcomes
Develop and implement a State based participation plan that aligns with the BA Participation Strategy outcomes
Represent and deliver Boccia at multi-sport events, school sport inclusion days and come & try activations
Connect with external organisations for the promotion of boccia and support the delivery of new programs within their structure and/or facilities
Initiate and follow up with participants and refer players to current programs/clubs or create new programs where there is capacity (player numbers) to do so
Work closely with coaches (and other specialised staff) on best practice/delivery of boccia
Create and maintain database of new participants
Sport Development
Innovate with new methods of awareness and promotion of Boccia
Identify and build new relationships with external organisations to collaborate on opportunities to promote and deliver Boccia
Support coaches, provide resources, assist with facilitating the program implementation
Provide articles and images for BA newsletter for promotion of boccia in your State
Explore and apply for State based grant opportunities
Event Support and Delivery including Camps
Implement and assist with the implementation of new program/club based competitions (intra-program/club competition)
Support the delivery of State based Titles as required
Support the organisation and delivery of state based camps
