How this position will Make the Difference to City of Melbourne…
The Guest Experience Officer will be based at Melbourne City Baths, which is managed and operated by the City of Melbourne as part of our Recreation and Waterways Branch. Melbourne City Baths offers a variety of services and programs to both members and the public, focusing on providing high-quality aquatic and recreational experiences that enhance community health and wellbeing through active participation.
The Guest Experience Officer will deliver a high-quality guest experience, serving as the first point of contact for both potential and existing customers. This role involves providing service through online channels, telephone, and in-person interactions. The Officer will be knowledgeable about the facility’s services and programs, ensuring that guest interactions align with policies, procedures, and customer service standards.
This position is responsible for executing sales and retention processes, working in consultation with the Guest Experience Team Leader to achieve desired outcomes.
Additionally, the Guest Experience Officer will manage administrative tasks, including daily banking, membership maintenance (such as suspensions and cancellations), arrears collection, stocktaking, ordering, direct debit preparation, data entry, and archiving or storing inactive information, all under the guidance of the Guest Experience Team Leader.

- Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in the health and fitness industry
- Experience using Microsoft Office and point of sale systems
- Well-developed interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated experience in relation to cash handling, point of sale reconciliation and daily banking procedures
- Previous sales experience is desirable
To be eligible for this role, you must also have the following (or willingness to obtain prior to appointment):

- Pool Lifeguard (including CPR HLTAID009) SISCAQU002, SISCAQU006, SISCAQU007, PUAEME001, PUAEME003
