The Trampoline Gymnastics Events, Pathways, and Performance Officer at Gymnastics NSW plays a pivotal role in overseeing, managing, developing and enhancing Trampoline Gymnastics within New South Wales.

An experienced events and operations officer with a strong understanding of the community sport environment, you will make an impact by delivering a professional and exceptionally well-run Gymnastic competitions and events, offering great experiences, growing participation, and driving increased engagement. You will be passionate about event management and highly ambitious. You will be joining an experienced, passionate, and close-knit team.

Under the supervision of the General Manager - Sport, Events and High Performance the Events, Pathways and Performance Officer is responsible for the professional delivery and coordination of Gymnastics NSW events, competitions, sports development, and pathways including program management, project coordination, and any other duties as requested by the General Manager - Sport, Events and High Performance.

You will have great personal interaction and relationship building skills given the front facing interaction with clubs, athletes, coaches, officials, partners, suppliers, spectators, and fans. You will have outstanding organisational and administration skills and an understanding of internal and external stakeholder management. You will also be capable of working autonomously and competent in managing conflict situations and conflicting priorities.

Knowledge of and/or experience in delivery of competitions and sport development programs will be highly regarded. Gymnastics technical knowledge and knowledge of Trampoline Gymnastics is beneficial.

Summary of Key duties include:

  • Events:
    • Manage a portfolio of events including the management of event budgets, liaison with event partners, coordination of groups of volunteers, collation of data, development of programs, dissemination of information, planning and coordination of event set up and pack down, and facilitating the creation of entry requirements for the events, revising and updating competition rules and regulations for the events in the officers portfolio and any other responsibilities associated with the delivery of an event.
    • Assist in the successful and high quality delivery of Gymnastics NSW events, competitions and activities across and within the department.
  • Pathways:
    • Develop, drive and implement participation and growth strategies.
    • Manage sport development aligned with Gymnastics NSW strategies through the Gymsport Committee.
    • Assist with Gymsport Committee administration including but not limited to operational planning, technical regulations, budgets, and meeting administration.
    • Develop and implement strategies to foster participant engagement and transition into competitive gymnastic programs. Drive participant growth in existing programs and design and develop new participation program offerings.
    • Provide innovative options to members through modified formats in delivery and competition types.
    • Collaborate with clubs and committees to enhance athlete experiences, retention, and creation of sustainable growth.
    • Maintain continuous communication with affiliated clubs, partners, coaches, judges, staff and other relevant stakeholders.
    • Actively participate in the development of the sport through manuals, workshops, and promotional materials.
  • Performance:
    • Implement the Trampoline Gymnastics Performance and Pathways Plan.
    • Work collaboratively with the Gymnastics NSW Trampoline Manager – Pathways and Performance to organize and manage the state team including but not limited to administration of the selection process, budgets, entries, uniforms, paperwork, accommodation, logistics and delivery; coordinate clinics, development workshops, education programs, and state squad activities.

Overall, the position requires a passion for community sport, strong organizational skills, strategic thinking, attention to detail, the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders and a deep commitment to enhancing gymnastic programs, events, and pathways across New South Wales.

Position Requirements:

Administration Competencies:

  • Preferred - Bachelor of Applied Science/Sport Management or similar degree;

Computer skills:

  • Minimum - Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Power Point), Internet, E-Mail, Data

Gymnastics Experience:

  • Desirable - Gymnastics coaching and/or participation experience. Trampoline Coaching and/or participation beneficial.

Location:

The position will be based in Newcastle, New South Wales, however will require travel within New South Wales to attend competitions, events and workshops. Gymnastics NSW Head Office is located in Homebush, NSW. The position will require work based at both Sydney and Newcastle locations.
