Description

The role exists to increase the number of Match Officials in NSW and assist in the education and support of Referee Associations, schools and competitions. The role will work closely with Rugby AU to develop and implement national action plans relating to Match Officials. The role will be the primary source of advice on officiating within NSWRU.

The Match Official Manager will focus on three key areas:

  1. Management of the Referee department, including department staff and budget.
  2. Oversee the recruitment and development of Match Officials in NSW, including Referees, Assistant Referees and Match Official Developers.
  3. Work with associations and affiliates to ensure the orderly conduct of Rugby competitions within NSW.

Success in this role will result in:

  1. (right environment) an increase in the satisfaction and retention rate of existing match officials and the satisfaction of other stakeholders with match officials,
  2. (right training) recruitment and development of sufficient match officials to service the current and future needs of the game within NSW, and
  3. (right support) sufficient Match Official Developers and Educators to support the planned growth of competitions.
