ABOUT THE ROLE
The Futsal Referee Education Coordinator will play a pivotal role in enhancing the quality and consistency of Futsal officiating across Australia. By developing and implementing comprehensive referee education programs, this position aims to increase the number of accredited Futsal referees and ensure they are well-prepared to officiate at various competition levels. Collaborating closely with Member Federations and key stakeholders, the coordinator will promote best practices in referee development and contribute to the establishment of a unified national Futsal structure. This role is essential in supporting Football Australia's commitment to effectively controlling, organising, promoting, growing, and administering Futsal nationally.
Please note that this role is fixed term until 9th December 2026
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a national Futsal referee education and accreditation program in collaboration with Football Australia’s technical team.
- Establish standardised training, assessment, and development pathways for Futsal referees at all levels.
- Deliver workshops, courses, and online education modules to enhance referee skills and knowledge.
- Support Member Federations in identifying and nurturing emerging refereeing talent.
- Develop and manage mentorship and professional development programs for referees.
- Oversee the recruitment and retention of referees, ensuring a sustainable officiating workforce.
- Establish evaluation and feedback mechanisms to improve referee performance and consistency.
- Work with competition organisers to ensure quality officiating at all sanctioned Futsal events.
- Ensure compliance with FIFA, AFC, and Football Australia refereeing standards.
- Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications Coordinator to promote referee education and recruitment initiatives.
- Provide regular updates and reports to the Head of Referees and General Manager – Futsal on refereeing development, challenges, and progress.

ABOUT YOU
Experience, Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience in referee education, training, or officiating development.
- Strong knowledge of FIFA, AFC, and Football Australia refereeing standards.
- Ability to develop and deliver referee accreditation programs.
- Experience in recruiting, mentoring, and assessing referees.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proficiency in digital learning tools and training platforms.

Additional Requirements:
- Full working rights in Australia
- Working with children check (paid/employee) or state-based equivalent
- International Criminal History Record for each country (other than Australia) in which you have resided for 12 months or more in the last 10 years (if applicable)
- Out of hours and weekend work as required
