  • Key coaching role in South Australia’s premier high-performance sports institute

The Head Coach, Rowing is responsible for the leadership, day-to-day coaching, and operational management of the SASI high performance rowing program. The primary objective of the role is to develop athletes capable of national team selection and delivering podium performances at international benchmark events. 

The role plays a pivotal role in fostering a world-class training environment and will demonstrate a strong commitment to athlete development across both able-bodied and para rowing pathways. This includes collaborating with Rowing Australia’s high performance team and providing strong management and coordination to South Australia’s high performance coaches and rowing community to ensure alignment with the national high performance pathway.

The position requires a strategic and dynamic leader who actively contributes to a positive performance culture. The successful candidate will seek ongoing professional development, demonstrate an interest and experience in talent identification and talent transfer, be a creative problem solver, and possess a strong understanding of the Australian sporting landscape and national stakeholder networks.

Essential Requirements

  • Relevant Coaching Accreditation
  • Working with Children / Working with Vulnerable People Check
  • Drivers Licence
  • 5 plus years’ experience coaching at National/international level and a proven track record of coaching rowing athletes to podium performances at international benchmark events
  • A current boat licence
