Description

THE POSITION:

This position is responsible for the efficient and effective leadership of the Golf Course Customer Serve Team and overview of the on-course maintenance contractor. It is vital for co-ordinating a number of duties within the branch including the pro shop retail, contractor management, driving range & course presentation.

This position is expected to receive and deal with enquiries, coordinate fees and charges, oversee contractor works, develop and implement procedures, develop visitation data, provide input into the monthly reports, supervise staff and ensure the presentation of the Pro Shop, Driving Range and surrounds are presentable and ready for use.

This hands-on role offers a unique opportunity to work across golf retail, customer service, member engagement, competition management and golf cart & driving range operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain aesthetic appeal of venue with appropriate and accurate information displayed.
  • Present accurate and timely information and reports to the Manager.
  • Coordination of memberships, including marketing and communications to prospective, current and expired members/players using both legacy media and social media.
  • Accurate recording and management of golf bookings, enquiries & course maintenance.
  • Provide supervision, guidance and leadership to maintain and increase staff performance and motivation.
  • Starting and Managing competition fields from the Golf Shop.

ESSENTIAL:

  • Demonstrated understanding of the golf industry - prior hands-on experience within a golf shop operation
  • Comprehensive experience in the delivery of quality Customer Service.
  • Comprehensive experience in staff management and team leadership
  • Comprehensive experience in cash handling and financial control systems
  • Experience with sales and transactions using a POS system
  • Customer service experience in a high-pressure environment.
  • Solid golf knowledge, including understanding of equipment, course play, and etiquette
  • Computer literacy, competence in business systems
  • Demonstrated experience in developing promotional strategies and material.
  • Experience in stock control, ordering & despatch. (retail and kiosk)
  • Experience in purchasing (retail and kiosk)
  • Available to work weekends and flexible hours as needed

SALARY & EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:

  • Permanent position, 35 hours per week.
  • This position is a Grade 5, with a commencing hourly rate of $47.34.per hour.
  • Standard Hours of Work: Between 6am to 7pm Monday to Sunday. However, commencing and finishing times will vary and depend on operational needs. Initially the hours will be 7am – 5pm weekdays and 6.30am – 5pm on weekends. Extended hours in peak periods 6am – 10pm
