About the role
We are now looking for a Tennis Development Officer - Central NSW to join our team at Tennis NSW and contribute to the growth of tennis across the Central NSW area with a specific focus on the Port Stephens/Newcastle/Lake Macquarie/Central Coast region. This role is integral in identifying opportunities and executing strategies to optimise tennis venues, get more people playing more often and ultimately increasing the sustainability of tennis venues within the region.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Developing positive relationships with clubs, coaches and other stakeholders within the region to influence, adopt and drive change
- Assisting stakeholders in developing 'grant ready' projects in line with identified needs and local priorities
- Supporting the development, implementation and monitoring of venue action plans covering management/governance, coaching/programs, competitions and facility development / renewal
- Fostering strong working relationship with the respective Local Government Agencies to ensure that we maximise all potential funding, facility improvement and programme support opportunities for clubs & venues
- Educating clubs on the importance of marketing and digital uplift and its impact on the club, tennis and consumers and support them in strengthening their digital presence and marketing strategies
About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to evoke the cooperation of stakeholders across a wide range of organisations including volunteers, coaches and Local Government Agencies
- Demonstrated understanding of sports administration, ideally gleaned through volunteer experience in club or association level community sport
- High computer literacy with Microsoft suite and database management and confidence in adopting diverse digital platforms
- A thorough understanding of the tennis environment and the various stakeholders it engages
- Hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check
- A current driver's licence and current first aid certificate, with a preparedness to engage in periods of travel to provide service to members
