About you and the role
We are seeking an energetic leader to take responsibility for all operational aspects of senior school girls’, boys’ and mixed sport to ensure integrated, best-practice programming and delivery via smooth, effective day-to-day running. The Head of Sport is an enthusiastic and positive advocate for all sporting activities in the School, focusing on both participation and performance, who helps deliver improvements in Westminster School’s Sports programs and the co-curricular program. You will receive administrative support from the Sports Administration Coordinator. Close liaison will be required with a range of staff to ensure a coordinated sports and program and philosophy.
Key Responsibilities include:
- As a member of the Sports Leadership team, plan and implement strategies to improve Sport performance and participation at Westminster School
- Deliver all operational aspects of Senior School Sports programs
- Manage and/or coordinate staff engagement in Senior School sports programs
- Manage sport communications and provide advice
- Take overall responsibility for sports administration in the Senior School
- Ensure that Senior School Sports programs and staff are aligned with Westminster’s ethos and support the ‘big picture’ of student learning
- Perform other tasks related to Senior School Sport and whole-School improvement
You will have relevant tertiary qualifications in a related field such as Sports Administration, Health, Education or Management with demonstrated experience and success in a leadership role. Your high level of organizational ability, ICT skills, positive relationship building ability, proven track record of coordinating sport and current professional knowledge of improving sport outcomes will see you excel in this unique opportunity.
