Melbourne Storm is an Australian professional rugby league club playing in the National Rugby League (NRL) competition. We are the only NRL team based in Victoria and have experienced substantial growth and success in our short history. We are currently inviting expressions of interest from passionate, community-minded and high-performance-driven individuals to be part of our Junior Female Pathways Program for the 2026 season.
Across Melbourne Storm’s Female Pathways Program, we have multiple opportunities for experienced individuals in the following roles:
- Head Coach
- Assistant Coach
- Team Manager
- Logistics Coordinator

- Strength & Conditioning Coach
- Sports Trainer
These positions are central to the development and delivery of our elite Junior Representative Programs, including the Lisa Fiaola and Tarsha Gale squads. We are looking for individuals who are committed to fostering a high-performance environment while maintaining a strong connection to the grassroots game.

About the Roles:
Head Coach
The Head Coach will incorporate the Storm way of coaching by fostering a positive, values-driven learning environment. They will champion a culture where constructive feedback is embedded in daily routines and where attention to detail, discipline and continuous development are essential standards. Other key focus areas include:
- Design and execute well-structured, high-quality training sessions that emphasise skill development, precision, and sustained effort.
- Maintain consistent communication with Pathways Management, offering regular updates and performance insights.
- Lead, guide, and mentor assistant coaches to ensure alignment across the program and consistency in coaching delivery.
- Deliver tailored, constructive feedback to players to support their individual growth and ongoing improvement.
Qualifications:
- NRL Senior Club Coach or Youth Development Coach accreditation.
Assistant Coach
As an Assistant Coach, you will play a key role in bringing the Head Coaches and Storm vision to life through attention to detail, clear communication and a strong focus on player development. This position is ideal for someone looking to grow as a coach while making a meaningful contribution in an elite pathway's environment. Other key focus areas include:
- Assist in the planning and delivery of high-quality training sessions.
- Reinforce team values, principles, and standards.
- Provide individualised feedback to players to support their growth.
- Support video analysis, training reviews, and game preparation.
- Maintain alignment with the Head Coach and broader program goals to ensure consistency across all touchpoints.
- Be present at all training sessions, game days, and key program meetings.
- Lead by example through professional behaviour and clear, respectful communication.
Qualifications:
- NRL Senior Club Coach or Youth Development Coach accreditation.
Team Manager
The Team Manager is responsible for overseeing the implementation, execution and day to day running of Lisa Fiaola and Tarsha Gale program's. The key focus areas will include:
- Ensure clear, consistent communication between coaching staff, players, parents/guardians and club administration regarding schedules, training, matches, and events.
- Manage training venues, match-day logistics, travel arrangements and ensure all events are well-organised and run smoothly.
- Support player wellbeing by ensuring medical information, registrations, consent forms, and club/player welfare protocols are up to date and followed.
- Oversee the distribution and maintenance of team uniforms and equipment, ensuring players meet club standards for attire and gear.
- Coordinate team lists, ID checks, paperwork and bench setup.
- Liaise with officials and opposition to ensure a professional game day environment.
- Promote and uphold team values, professional behaviour, and commitment to program expectations both on and off the field.
- Maintain accurate records (attendance, incidents, injuries), and report regularly to the club and pathway staff to support program tracking and improvement.
Logistics Coordinator
Will assist in coordinating many elements across training, equipment and gameday, to supporting the Team Manager in both pre-season and season. Other key focus areas include:
- Ensuring that any necessary equipment is set up and available for all training sessions.
- Removal and storage of all equipment at the completion of sessions.
- Ensuring water bottles and hydration remain full during all training sessions.
Physiotherapist
Physiotherapist is responsible for facilitating and integrating rehabilitation plans for injured players and holds accountability for pre-habilitation to assist in the delivery of the physical preparation program. Other key focus areas include:
- Assist, facilitate and integrate physical, medical, coaching and welfare involvement for all injured players with a prognosis longer than 4 weeks.
- Design and schedule the training week for injured players.
- Deliver rehab programs for players and communicate progress to relevant stakeholders.
- Assist in delivery of hands-on manual therapy work as and when required in the training week.
- Document and progress rehabilitation and prehabilitation plans as required.
Qualifications:
- Tertiary qualification in Exercise & Sport Science or equivalent field.
- ASCA accreditation (desirable).
Strength & Conditioning Coach
Contribute to the delivery of athlete development programs in alignment with the Storm High Performance standards. Work in close collaboration with coaching staff to optimise player physical performance, with a focus on developing strength, power, speed and conditioning capacities. Core responsibilities include:
- Assisting with session programming.
- Monitoring athlete loads and wellness.
- Attending all training and match days.
- Contributing to program planning with the Female Pathways Performance Manager.
Qualifications:
- Tertiary qualification in Exercise & Sport Science or equivalent field (or currently studying)
- ASCA accreditation (or working towards)
Sports Trainer
Sports trainers play a crucial role in ensuring player safety and well-being during training and games. Their responsibilities include providing first aid, managing injuries, hydrations, assisting with rehabilitation and promoting injury prevention strategies. Other key focus areas include:
- Assisting with field and equipment setup/pack down.
- Transporting team gear to and from venues.
- Managing water and hydration during sessions.
- Supporting the Team Physiotherapist with player strapping for injury support.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Level 1 Sports Trainer Accreditation.
- First Aid & CPR.
- Proven experience in player strapping and taping techniques for athletes.
Offer & Renumeration:
Engagement type will vary and may be offered on either a contractor or volunteer basis. Volunteer positions typically include an honorarium in recognition of their contribution.
Season availability:
The Junior Pathways Program season operates from 1 November 2025 through to 10 May 2026. The time commitments will vary by position but as a minimum, you will need to be available for:
- Pre-Season: 3-4 sessions per week.
- In-Season: 3-4 sessions per week + Game Day.
