Shooting Australia (SA), the national governing body for Olympic and Paralympic target shooting, is seeking up to three (3) Appointed Directors to join its Board during a pivotal period leading into the LA 2028 and Brisbane 2032 Games.

As a Director on the Shooting Australia Board, you will play a critical leadership role in setting the strategic direction of the organisation, ensuring strong governance, and providing guidance and oversight to the executive team.

You will be expected to:

• Contribute actively to the development and monitoring of Shooting Australia's long-term strategic objectives, particularly in high performance sport.
• Bring an independent and objective perspective to Board discussions and decisions, ensuring alignment with Shooting Australia’s values, vision, and performance targets.
• Promote accountability, transparency, and integrity in all governance matters.
• Provide leadership in complex decision-making, helping shape policies and initiatives that impact athletes, coaches, programs, and stakeholders.
• Support the organisation’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, and help foster a high-performing, inclusive culture.

We are seeking individuals who bring strategic thinking, goverance expertise, and leadership experience, ideally at board or senior executive levels. Ideal candidates will bring one or more of the following attributes:

• Finance Expertise – Recognised qualifications such as CA or CPA and financial oversight experience.
• Governance Acumen – Demonstrated experience in board governance or executive roles reporting to a board.
• High Performance System Knowledge – Understanding of the Australian high performance sport system (ASC, AIS, NIN, NSOs).
• Strategic Capability – A proven ability to develop, evaluate, and implement strategy at scale.
