Expressions of Interest for the 2026 Season: Head Coaches & Assistant Coaches
Mosman Junior Rugby is recognised as one of Sydney’s largest and most successful junior rugby clubs, comprising over 400 players ranging from under-5s “Walla Rugby” through to under-15s. We are proud of our rich heritage, strong community ethos, and exemplary record in developing players who progress to representative rugby.

We seek qualified and enthusiastic coaches for the 2026 season for the following pontenal roles (under-13s to under-15s):
1. Head Coaches (Age Group Lead)
Oversee up to 60 players across two to three teams.
A Level 2 Rugby Coaching qualification is highly advantageous.
Prior experience coaching youth is essential, including competence in parent communication and player development.
2. Assistant Coaches
Suited to current or recently graduated Colts players or individuals passionate about nurturing young talent.
Previous coaching experience is preferred.
Must possess sound technical knowledge of rugby, alongside leadership and communication skills appropriate for engaging players aged 11–15.
Ideally Smart Rugby qualified (or able to obtain this credential before February 2026; the course is free and delivered online).
Key Details
Training sessions occur Wednesday evenings, with matches scheduled each Sunday.
The season extends from early February to early September 2026.
Remuneration will be commensurate with experience.
Application Requirements
Applicants are requested to address the following questions in their submissions:
How many years of coaching experience do you have? Include postinal skills (e.g. Forwards or backs coaching)
What relevant qualifications do you hold (e.g., Smart Rugby, Level 1 or 2 Rugby Coaching)?
Do you have a current Working With Children (WWC) Check?
Do you possess First Aid accreditation?
Ideal Candidate Attributes
Demonstrated playing ability or coaching experience;
Excellent communication skills, with the capacity to inspire and mentor young athletes;
Flexibility, adaptability, and a positive attitude;
Genuine passion for rugby and a commitment to sharing that enthusiasm;
Availability for both Wednesday training and Sunday matches.
