Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs Rugby League Club are seeking expressions of interest from suitable applicants to intern with the Nutrition parts of the High-Performance Department during the upcoming NRL pre- and regular season (2026). These positions are offered to final year dietetic students OR new graduate dietitians.
This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in the field of high-performance sport to gain experience working in a professional sporting team environment.
Roles
Trainees placed with the Bulldogs will assist the Club’s Nutrition program in the following areas:
Assisting/observing implementation of nutrition programs both within NRL and Pathways.
Conducting 4-6 week projects to further the nutrition program at the club which may include; Omega-3 studies, snack station development, environmental optimisation, or any project that you deem relevant.
Other general tasks to assist the Bulldogs High Performance Dietitian which may include; preparing supplements, making smoothies, developing fact sheets, doing stocktake and packing game day boxes.
Requirements
The successful candidates must possess the following attributes:
Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics- registered with the DAA or eligibility to do so (or currently studying).
Working with Children Check (WWCC).
Proactive, driven and mature student with practical strength & conditioning experience.
Able to operate within a high-performance sport environment.
Respect the confidentiality of content of the high-performance program, be professional in conduct at all times and act with discretion when interacting with the playing group.
Be punctual and reliable in attendance.
Time Commitments
Each of the successful applicants will be required 2 days per week for approximately 8-10 hours (total) during pre-season (NRL dates January 2026 - 22 February 2026) and 1-2 days per week during the in-season (NRL dates 23 February 2026 - October 2026) depending on turnaround time between games. Sessions will be conducted at Belmore Sports Ground located in Belmore, NSW 2192.
The internship will commence on the 29th January 2026 and will finish 1 week after the end of the season. Parking will be provided at the club for the successful candidate.
