Description

The Queensland Academy of Sport (QAS) is on a bold journey towards Brisbane 2032 and beyond. Following the extraordinary success of Queensland athletes at the recent Olympic and Paralympic Games, we are now focused on delivering even more medal-winning moments through to Los Angeles 2028 and our home Games in 2032.

We are seeking talented, motivated individuals whose values and behaviours align with our team and culture. If you are passionate about high performance, committed to continuous improvement, and want to be part of something transformational, we invite you to join us on this exciting journey.

The Strength and Conditioning Coach will be responsible for the design and implementation of world-class strength and conditioning programs aimed at maximising the physical performance of nationally categorised athletes within QAS Women’s Football program, while also leading and developing a team of strength and conditioning coaches.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide evidence-based strength and conditioning services to a QAS Women’s Football program in line with each athlete’s Individual Athlete Performance Plan (IAPP) aligned with their What It Takes to Win (WITTW) framework.
  • Deliver specific and relevant performance testing and tracking/monitoring for QAS categorised athletes, providing timely feedback to the coaches, athletes and Performance Support team members.
  • Contribute to the development of IAPPs and assist in regularly reviewing the associated specific development priorities and performance metrics to measure progress.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary performance support team that creates a high-performance environment to provide an integrated program based on the level and needs for QAS supported Women’s Football athletes. This includes spending an appropriate amount of time in the daily training environment (DTE), matches, and attending weekly Performance Support team meetings.
  • Regularly liaise with key internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to Football Queensland and Football Australia, to collaboratively identify current sport specific S&C trends to deliver high quality integrated outcomes.
  • Demonstrate high level responsibility for the application of agreed National Quality Assurance Standards relating to data collection, methods and equipment maintenance and utilise QAS approved systems for athlete programming, monitoring, reporting and data management.

The Queensland Academy of Sport (QAS) is committed to the safety and wellbeing of our athletes.

We are committed to an environment where athletes from any background are heard, treated fairly and free from abuse.
