The opportunity

Radford College is seeking a highly organised and proactive Sports Operations Manager to support the smooth and consistent delivery of sport programs across the College. Working closely with the Director of Sport and Heads of Sport, this role suits an experienced administrator who enjoys coordinating people, schedules, systems and events in a fast-paced school sport environment. The position is responsible for coordinating scheduling, registrations, logistics, communication and compliance processes, while working within established College procedures and contributing to ongoing improvements.

This is an excellent role for someone who enjoys variety, teamwork and creating efficient, well-organised systems that help students, staff and families experience a positive and safe sporting environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating day-to-day sport operations, schedules and calendars
  • Managing registrations, communications, logistics and key dates for sport programs
  • Maintaining data accuracy across sports systems and digital platforms
  • Supporting compliance processes, including WHS, safeguarding and tour documentation
  • Assisting with event delivery such as carnivals, gala days and major College sporting events
  • Coordinating coach onboarding documentation, staffing rosters and administrative workflows
  • Managing facility bookings, training grids and equipment records
  • Supporting Radwear (sports uniform) stock processes and uniform coordination
  • Providing a high standard of communication and stakeholder support

About you

The successful candidate will have had a minimum of 5 years’ experience, working in operations, program management or leadership roles with sport-based programs within schools, clubs or sporting organisations.

They will be a confident self-starter who enjoys building relationships with multiple stakeholders both inside and outside of the College, possesses excellent communication and administrative skills, and can be relied upon to work autonomously.

Candidates must have:

  • MS Office proficient, a willingness to learn school systems (for example Synergetic, NEXUS and Clipboard) and experience using web environments to research, collect and analyze data.
  • Demonstrate a passion for collaborative working as a member of a high-functioning team, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities
  • Be energetic, enthusiastic and demonstrate a willingness to grow through the sharing of best practice and professional experience.
  • Possess exceptional communications skills both written and verbal, as well as excellent time management and administrative skills
  • Ability to think strategically and look for opportunities to improve the Radford Sports Operations.
  • Commit to the safeguarding and promotion of student welfare.

Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Sport Management, Administration, Education, Business or a related field.
  • Extensive experience (minimum 5+ years) in sports operations, program management or leadership roles within schools, clubs or sporting organisations.
  • Demonstrated experience managing staff, budgets, facilities and complex sporting programs.
  • Strong understanding of risk management, WHS, child protection and compliance requirements.
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Light rigid (Class LR) bus license, or ability to obtain immediately upon employment.
  • Working with Vulnerable People card
