About the team –
The AIS HP Coach Development team is responsible for working with the HP system to build the capacity and capability of the HP Coach workforce to ensure that Australia is positioned to meet the current and future needs of HP sport.
About the role –
As a part of the HP Coach Development branch the HP Coach Development Lead - Learning Design will be responsible for driving the continual integration and evolution of learning design ensuring we support, enable and empower NSO/Ds, NIN partners, coaches and athletes to be world-leaders in learning design for the purpose of enhancing skilled performance in competition.
You will be responsible for working across AIS teams and with external partners to ensure the Australian sport system is the world-leader in the delivery of Learning Design, providing our coaches and athletes with a distinct competitive advantage.
About you –
We are looking for an experienced professional, with strong leadership skills and experience delivering learning design programs and initiatives to coaches and athletes, driving innovative practices, and guiding research agenda in HP sporting environments. The successful candidate will have the following essential criteria:
- a post-graduate degree in movement science (preferably with skill acquisition or learning design specialty), education, or coaching.
- demonstrated understanding of the Australian HP sport system, or a comparable complex performance-based system, including relevant planning, monitoring and review processes.
- significant experience working in elite sporting environments and specifically with Coaches for the purpose of impacting performance, utilizing a learning design perspective.
- experience managing projects and undertaking strategic planning.
- have an ability to analyse and assess programs and projects with a solutions-focused approach to problem solving.
- experience in successfully collaborating within a diverse team, and achieving organisation objectives, aligned with strategic direction.
In addition to the above the below criteria are desired:
- Experience specifically in Olympic and Paralympic sports with HP coaches.
- Be able to demonstrate experience successfully engaging and managing relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Be able to work effectively both within a team environment and independently.
