About the opportunity
We are seeking an experienced programs and bookings professional who is driven in positive customer experience and community engagement to join the team at Charlie Lowles Leisure Centre Emerton as our Programs Team Leader.
As Programs Team Leader you will lead dedicated teams of both Program Hosts and Health and Fitness Instructors to deliver a positive Health, Sport and Recreation experience to our customers.
Reporting to the Aquatic and Leisure Centre Coordinator, you will be responsible for
- Booking and Administration of Facility Hire (Stadium and Pool)
- Community Engagement
- Delivery of School Holiday Programs
- Coordination of Health and Fitness Classes
- Promotion Centre Memberships and Member Retention
- Stakeholder Communication.

Qualifications and experience
Essential:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in a related field
- Minimum 2 years in an organisational in a related environment
- Experience working both within a team environment and as a ‘self-starter’
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Current CPR Certificate
- Demonstrated ability to plan/coordinate events
- Knowledge of WHS issues
- Computer literate
- Current Working with Children Check
- Current class C driver’s licence.
Desirable:
- Registered Fitness Leader (AusActive)
- Oxygen equipment qualifications
- Experience in a similar working environment working to strict parameters to achieve pre-set targets and deadlines
- Experience in the operation of assets and resources associated with the provision of recreation facilities, programmes and events
- Relevant qualifications experience in accordance with requirements outlined in the position description
- Experience of working with corporate groups, schools, rehabilitation, personal trainers and sporting clubs and/or associations
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service.
Remuneration and benefits
The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
- Entry level for this position starts at $1,408.84 per week
- 35-hour working week
- Rostered Day Off (RDO) every fortnight
