The Vision
Located on 200 acres of tranquil bushland in Strath Creek, just one hour from Melbourne, The Village Green is being redeveloped as a purpose-built residential centre for experiential learning, community connection and ecological stewardship. Upon opening in January 2028, the Centre will host schools, sports teams and purpose-driven groups, providing transformative outdoor experiences that integrate human connection (Village) with environmental regeneration (Green). The Village Green is not just a venue - it will be a living model of how community and ecology can come together to foster growth, resilience, and leadership.
The Position
The position will be entrusted with bringing this vision to life - leading operations, shaping programs, and building a culture that reflects the values of community and, connection to nature, transformation through experience, fun, learning, challenge, and care for Country.
Uniquely, the role spans two phases:
Phase 1 - Establishment (2026 - 2027): shaping the founding elements, marketing and selling to key markets, building systems, preparing programs and leading pre-opening readiness.
Phase 2 - Operations (2028 onwards): overseeing day-to-day leadership of facilities, staff, programs, and guest experiences to deliver on the Village + Green promise
Candidates will be highly engaged by the “big picture” and eager to position The Village Green as a world-leading centre for regenerative learning and collective growth. The General Manager will live on site and play a central role in shaping people, culture and experience, leading an environment that moves fluidly between moments of energy and reflection, with exceptional programs delivered consistently through a high-performing team.
To be successful in the role we’re looking for a General Manager who demonstrates deep personal and professional alignment with the Village Green philosophy and who is motivated by the impact and social good. Values alignment must be coupled with leadership and management experience, commercial acumen and an entrepreneurial spirit to drive growth that ensures financial sustainability.
