We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced and motivated Sports Development Officer to join our team and play a key role in growing participation, strengthening community participation, and supporting the delivery of high-quality sporting programs and events.

About the Role
The Sports Development Officer will lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of programs and initiatives that encourage participation across all levels of gymnastics, tumbling, ninja-parkour and obstacle sport — from grassroots engagement through to pathway development.
Work closely with coaches to upskill capability, enhance programs and coach children and adults in gymnastics, tumbling and/or ninja-parkour.
Key Responsibilities
- Further develop and coach engaging gymnastics, tumbling and ninja-parkour programs
- Build strong relationships with other staff
- Coordinate sporting events, workshops, and development activities
- Support coach development through upskilling workshops and mentoring of junior staff
- Monitor program outcomes and prepare reports on participation and engagement metrics
- Identify opportunities for program growth and partnerships
- Contribute to strategic projects and organisational objectives
- Ensure programs are delivered safely and in line with relevant policies and procedures
About You
You are an organised and proactive professional with a genuine passion for sport development. You enjoy working collaboratively, communicating with a wide range of people, and creating movement programs that make a positive impact.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Greater than 5 years gymnastics / tumbling / parkour-ninja coaching experience
- Experience coaching skills equivalent to Level 9 in Australian Levels Program
- Experience in coach mentoring, specifically gymnastics, tumbling, cheer and/or parkour-ninja sports
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities
- Experience coordinating programs or events
- Strong administrative and reporting skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- First Aid and Working With Children Check (or ability to obtain)
- Strong English language skills
Desirable
- Experience supervising teams of junior coaches
- Experience developing coach education programs
