We are now seeking a Performance Wellbeing Manager to play a critical role in supporting holistic athlete development and wellbeing across Australia’s high-performance diving system.
About the Role
Reporting to the CEO (and working in synch with the Head Coach & Program Director), the Performance Wellbeing Manager leads and coordinates athlete wellbeing systems, programs and partnerships across the national high-performance environment.
Working closely with State programs, the AIS and State Institutes and Academies of Sport, this role supports athletes to successfully navigate key transition points throughout and beyond their sporting careers, through a positive, athlete-centred approach aligned to ‘Win Well’.
This is a part-time position (2–3 days per week), based in Brisbane or Sydney, with some travel required to support national programs and key stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage athlete wellbeing across the Australian Diving high-performance system
- Design, implement and continuously improve wellbeing frameworks, policies and programs
- Integrate athlete wellbeing into individualised planning within high-performance environments
- Provide individualised support and case management, referring to specialist services as required
- Build and maintain strong referral and support networks (including AIS and education providers)
- Influence culture and decision-making to embed wellbeing in strategy and daily operations
- Support athletes through education, career development and transition into life after sport
- Engage with key national stakeholders and contribute to broader high-performance initiatives
About You
You are passionate about athlete wellbeing and thrive in complex, high-performance environments.
You will bring:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or industry certification (e.g. psychology, social work, education, counselling)
- Experience supporting individuals through career, education and life transitions
- Strong understanding of the Australian high-performance sport system and athlete wellbeing frameworks
- Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships and influence diverse stakeholder groups
- Excellent communication skills and a calm, adaptable approach in high-pressure environments
- A strong commitment to child safety, ethical practice and holistic wellbeing
Experience working within elite sport or multidisciplinary performance teams will be highly regarded.
