Richmond Rowing Club (RRC) is a community-focused club on the Yarra river, supporting rowers from beginner to masters in a friendly, inclusive environment. We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Rowing Coach to join our team. The role will be shaped to suit the successful candidate, from leading the club’s coaching program as Head Coach to delivering squad-based coaching as a squad/casual coach.
Responsibilities may include:
Designing and delivering the Annual Training Program
Coaching competitive and/or recreational squads
Leading or supporting training sessions, rowing camps, and regatta preparation
Providing technical guidance to athletes and volunteer coaches
Assisting with crew selection and boat allocations
Supporting equipment care, rigging, and safe training practices
Contributing to a positive, inclusive club culture
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
Experience coaching rowing (club, school, or program level)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to foster a supportive, inclusive training environment
Level 1 Rowing Coaching Accreditation (or willingness to obtain)
First Aid qualification
Working with Children Check
Desirable:
Experience leading a coaching program (for Head Coach consideration)
Level 2 Coaching Accreditation
Strength & Conditioning certification
Knowledge of rigging and equipment care
Marine or driver’s license
Trailer towing competency
