  • 38 hours per week (Monday to Sunday, as per roster)
  • Located at the Shoalhaven Indoor Sports Centre, Cambewarra Road, Bomaderry

About the Role

Shoalhaven City Council is seeking an experienced and motivated Coordinator to oversee the delivery of high-quality, commercially focused programs and services at the Shoalhaven Indoor Sports Centre. Reporting to the Northern Recreation Manager, this position is responsible for the day-to-day management of facility operations, including staff, finances, assets and programs. You will lead a diverse team, oversee budgets, manage risk and compliance, and drive continuous improvement while delivering excellent customer service outcomes for the community. The key duties of this role include:

  • Manage the budget for the Shoalhaven Indoor Sports Centre
  • Support & coordinate a Team within Council to enable Council to function at an optimal level
  • Exhibit leadership behaviours by showing initiative, taking responsibility for self and group actions and referring issues of ethics and probity
  • Approach problem solving by analysing information from various sources
  • Prioritise workloads for the Shoalhaven Indoor Sports Centre that support the Community Strategic Plan and align operational activities accordingly
  • Provide reports and reviews expenditure and income, looking for opportunities to control costs and improve business profitability in line with Council's Long Term Financial Plan.

The advertised salary is based on the grade of the position, comprising of 4 steps within the range shown. The starting salary is at Step 1 within the grade. Progression through the salary steps shall be based upon the achievement of performance objectives relating to the position.

About You

To be successful in the position, you will have:

  • Certificate IV in Frontline Management or equivalent experience
  • Current First Aid and CPR
  • Demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of policies and procedures relevant to the management a leisure facility
  • Current Class C Driver's Licence
  • A current NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC)
  • Proof of right to work in Australia

This position requires a current NSW Working with Children Check. Applicants are required to apply and pay for this check if not already obtained.

Council requires applicants for this position to undergo a National Criminal History Check during the recruitment process. This check will be at the expense of Council.
