About the Role
Oceania Rugby is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Finance Manager to oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the organisation.
Reporting directly to the General Manager, this position is responsible for ensuring the effective financial management, reporting, compliance, and governance of Oceania Rugby. The role will work closely with internal stakeholders, external auditors, funding partners, and service providers to maintain strong financial controls and support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
The Finance Manager will be responsible for:
- Preparing monthly financial statements, management reports, and variance analysis
- Leading the annual budgeting and rolling forecast process
- Managing cash flow, working capital, and relationships with banks and donors
- Overseeing BAS/GST, payroll tax, and income tax compliance in conjunction with external advisors
- Coordinating the year-end audit and managing the external auditor relationship
- Maintaining strong internal controls and financial policies
- Partnering with business stakeholders to provide financial insight and support decision-making
- Identifying and driving process improvements across finance systems and workflows
- Supporting ad hoc financial modelling, opex analysis, and special projects
Skills, Attributes and Experience
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Professional accounting qualifications such as CA or CPA (or be nearing completion).
- A minimum of five (5) years' experience in finance and accounting, including at least two (2) years in a Finance Manager, Senior Accountant, or equivalent role.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and an understanding of Australian financial reporting and compliance requirements.
- Experience managing budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and audit processes.
- Proficiency in accounting software platforms such as Xero, MYOB, or similar financial systems.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong analytical capability.
- The ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
- A high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and professional integrity.

Additional Information
- This is a full-time position and reports to the General Manager.
- The role may require occasional travel within Australia and the Oceania region.
