The Year 9 Rowing Coordinator is responsible for the coaching and coordination of the Year 9 rowing squad and it's coaches. The primary focus of the role is to support athlete development and crew progression, fostering a positive and engaging enviroment for all Year 9 rowers.
The Coordinator will work collaboratively with the Head of Rowing, fellow coaches and Sports Department staff to support the delivery of a well-structured and rewarding rowing program for Year 9 students.
A sound working knowledge of rowing, familiarity with the APS competition environment, and some experience in coaching or coordinating a sports program are benefitial.
Good communication and interpersonal skills are important, as the role involves working with students, coaches of varying ages and experience and families to create a positive team environment.
Duties fall across the scope of coaching, program development, management, compliance with child safety standards and occupational health and safety guidelines. You will be known for your calm, reliable, positive and engaging approach. Your track record will show your capacity to work well with people of all ages, abilities and skill.
Some of the key requirements include:
Level 2 or higher sports coaching qualifications
Experience in Rowing Coaching or Club-Level Participation
Current First Aid Qualifications
Undergraduate Tertiary Education in Sport Coaching, Sports Science or related fields will be highly regarded.
