Our Operations Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of Cairns Netball Association, ensuring the successful delivery of competitions, programs, events and facility management while supporting the strategic direction of the Association.
About the Role
As the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for leading the operational success of Cairns Netball Association, ensuring our people, facilities, events and programs are operating at a high standard.
This will look like…
- Leading and supporting a small team to manage the canteen, courts/facilities, and competition operations
- Building strong relationships with clubs, volunteers, sponsors, schools, Netball Queensland and community stakeholders
- Oversee netball events, including competitions, carnivals, presentations, and fundraising activities
- Managing the maintenance, presentation and ongoing improvement of our courts and clubhouse facilities
- Preparing operational reports and supporting the Board in achieving strategic objectives
- Monitoring budgets, purchasing, stock control and operational expenditure
- Driving compliance across governance, workplace health and safety, child safety and organisational policies
- Identifying grant and funding opportunities and supporting successful applications
- Ensuring Cairns Netball continues to provide a safe, welcoming and professional experience for all participants and visitors
As we are a small knit team, all of our team members jump in to support each other as needed. This means you may sometimes provide support outside of your core duties, such as covering the phones, monitoring our shared emails, and coordinating game day activities.
PLEASE NOTE: As this role is heavily involved in the events held at Cairns Netball Association, this role is required to be on site during site usage, which may include:
- Occasional Saturday or Sunday work (Time Off in Lieu will be available)
- Staggered shifts to attend weekday events, which may occasionally finish as late as 9pm
About You
You will bring:
- Strong understanding of Netball or other sports operational requirements (preferred)
- Previous experience in venue, people, and/or budget management
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy and organisational skills
- Ability to work together with a small, supportive team
- An appreciation of the local sporting landscape would be highly regarded
