Description

The Manly Warringah Sea Eagles are seeking passionate, committed and experienced people to join our Female Pathways Program for the 2027 season. We are looking for Head Coaches, Assistant Coaches and Team Managers to support our Lisa Fiaola Cup and Tarsha Gale Cup teams, commencing in November 2026.

These roles provide an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of the next generation of female rugby league talent and play an important role in building a high-performance environment that supports the growth, development and wellbeing of our players.

Positions

We are seeking applications for:

  • Head Coach
  • Assistant Coach

About the Roles

Head Coach

The Head Coach will lead the team’s football program and be responsible for creating a positive, professional and high-performance environment that supports player development and team success.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the coaching and development program for the team
  • Establishing a strong team culture aligned with the values of the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles
  • Developing players technically, tactically, physically and mentally
  • Working collaboratively with the broader Pathways and Football departments
  • Supporting individual player development and progression through the Sea Eagles pathway
  • Maintaining high standards of professionalism, player welfare and behaviour

Assistant Coach

The Assistant Coach will work closely with the Head Coach to deliver the team’s football program and support the ongoing development of players.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with training planning and delivery
  • Supporting individual and team development
  • Contributing to game preparation, analysis and review
  • Helping establish a positive and inclusive team environment
  • Working collaboratively with the Head Coach and broader Pathways program

 

Team Manager

The Team Manager will provide administrative and operational support to the team, ensuring the smooth running of the program throughout the season.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating team administration and communication
  • Supporting players, coaching staff and families throughout the season
  • Managing team logistics, scheduling and match-day requirements
  • Liaising with the Club, competition administrators and other relevant stakeholders
  • Supporting compliance with competition and Club requirements
  • Contributing to a positive and professional team environment

About You

We are looking for people who:

  • Are passionate about the development of young female athletes
  • Demonstrate strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Can create a positive, inclusive and high-performance environment
  • Are committed to player development, wellbeing and creating positive experiences for young women in rugby league
  • Work collaboratively and professionally within a broader football program
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the responsibilities that come with working with young athletes

Essential Requirements

For Head Coach and Assistant Coach applicants:

  • Current NRL Coaching Accreditation appropriate to the role
  • Current NSW Working with Children Check
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Relevant experience coaching rugby league or within a high-performance team sport environment
  • A strong understanding of player development and contemporary coaching practices

For Team Manager applicants:

  • Current NSW Working with Children Check
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Relevant experience in team management, administration, sport or a similar environment
  • Strong organisational, communication and administrative skills

Desirable Experience

The following would be highly regarded:

  • Experience working within rugby league or another high-performance team sport
  • Previous experience in female rugby league or female athlete development
  • Experience working within a junior or pathways environment
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in coaching, sport, education, human movement or a related discipline
  • Additional coaching, leadership, welfare or sporting qualifications
