The Royal Life Saving Aquatic Academy is located on the grounds of Hills Sports High School in Seven Hills. The Academy has a long history in Sport development, Drowning Prevention, Training and Education and will now expand into the Competitive Swimming pathway.
We are seeking a Junior Swimming Coach to join our dedicated team in a casual capacity. The primary responsibility of the Junior Coach will be planning and delivering level appropriate training sessions to our Mini Squad and Junior Squad members. The successful candidate will also be capable of training and developing other Junior Squad coaches.
To secure this role you will have:
Proven ability to coach a range of swimmers at a Stroke Correction, Mini Squad and Junior Squad levels.
Minimum qualification of Competitive Strokes and willing to work towards a Development Coaching Licence.
Demonstrated ability to coach swimmers as part of a team.
Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with program participants, parents and RLS staff.
Follow, understand and deliver a session plan as set out by the Senior Coaching staff.
Demonstrated ability in maintaining working relationships with parents, students and staff, preferably within a swim school setting.
Demonstrated ability in shadowing other Swimming Teachers and Coaching staff.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
The Squad program operates Monday - Saturday with a range of session times. The Junior Coaching team will need to be available of an afternoon from 3:15pm - 7:30pm and again on Saturday mornings from 7:00am - 1:00pm.
Shortlisted applicants will be required to provide evidence of their current Working with Children Check number in order to be eligible for this position.
