FuntoSwim is looking for qualified, enthusiastic and reliable Swimming Teachers to join our growing team across our North Ryde and North Turramurra locations.

We're a family-run swim school with a simple philosophy: children learn best when they feel safe, supported and genuinely enjoy being in the water.

Our classes are intentionally small, allowing our teachers to know their swimmers, build relationships with families and give every child meaningful attention.

About FuntoSwim

FuntoSwim provides Learn to Swim programs for babies, toddlers, preschoolers and school-age children across two warm indoor pools in Sydney's north.

Our locations are:

North Ryde – inside North Ryde RSL
North Turramurra – Lady Davidson Private Hospital

We focus on small classes, individual attention, progressive skill development and creating a positive experience for every swimmer.

FuntoSwim is also a Swim Australia training venue, and ongoing teacher development is an important part of our culture.

The Role

We are looking for qualified Swimming Teachers who are ready to teach.

You'll deliver engaging Learn to Swim lessons across our structured program, working with children of different ages and swimming abilities.

Depending on your qualifications and experience, opportunities are also available within our Babies & Toddlers program, including parent-and-child classes.

Both casual and part-time positions are available.

Shifts are primarily available during weekday afternoons/evenings and weekends.

Key Responsibilities

As a FuntoSwim teacher, you will:

• Deliver safe, fun and engaging swimming lessons
• Teach swimming and water-safety skills according to FuntoSwim's program and progression structure
• Create a positive and encouraging environment for every child
• Monitor swimmers' progress and help them progress through the appropriate levels
• Build positive relationships with swimmers and their families
• Communicate professionally with parents, other teachers and management
• Maintain high standards of supervision and child safety
• Participate in training and professional development
• Work collaboratively with the wider FuntoSwim team

Essential Requirements

Applicants for our current teaching vacancies must hold:

• AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety qualification OR SWIM Australia Teacher qualification
• Current NSW Working With Children Check - paid employment
• Current CPR certification
• Australian working rights

Applicants must also:

• Hold an AUSTSWIM or SWIM Australia Babies & Toddlers / Infant & Preschool qualification, OR
• Be willing to obtain a Babies & Toddlers qualification.

Desirable Criteria

Highly regarded:

• AUSTSWIM or SWIM Australia Babies & Toddlers / Infant & Preschool qualification
• Previous Learn to Swim teaching experience
• Experience teaching preschool and school-age children
• Experience working with children with additional needs
• Additional aquatic teaching qualifications
• Availability across multiple weekday afternoon and/or weekend shifts
• Ability to work across both North Ryde and North Turramurra

However, our current vacancies are primarily for teachers who already hold an AUSTSWIM or SWIM Australia teaching qualification and are ready to work.
