Description

Working at the Brisbane Broncos

Whether it’s giving your all at Suncorp Stadium, or going above and beyond in schools, we don’t just play for a club, we play for a community, and a proud one at that. One that every single one of us wears on our sleeves, every single day. We’re much more than a world-class sporting organisation and the biggest sports brand in Australia, we’re a team.

Pride, performance, people and joy are at the heart of everything we do and that’s why things are done differently here, it’s how we inspire and excite. Whatever field of work we’re in, we always leave it all out there.

How you can play a part

Reporting to the Head of Performance, this is a specialist, hands-on high-performance role responsible for leading the Club’s performance nutrition strategy and delivering evidence-based nutrition support across our NRL, NRLW and Academy programs. Working closely with the Football Performance and Medical teams and Club Chef, you will play a key role in supporting player preparation, performance, recovery and development.

This will include:

  • Develop and deliver evidence-based performance nutrition strategies aligned to training demands, competition schedules, recovery and player health.
  • Conduct individual player assessments and develop tailored nutrition plans addressing fuelling, hydration, body composition, recovery and rehabilitation.
  • Partner with the Club Chef to establish nutrition standards, plan menus and ensure the Club’s daily food provision supports player performance and individual dietary requirements.
  • Coordinate nutrition and catering requirements across training, game days, team travel and camps, including pre-match preparation and post-match recovery.
  • Collaborate with Medical, Strength & Conditioning, Sports Science and Rehabilitation staff to integrate nutrition into individual player performance and return-to-play plans.
  • Deliver practical nutrition education across the NRL, NRLW and Academy programs, building player knowledge and sustainable nutrition habits.
  • Oversee supplementation practices, ensuring appropriate protocols, risk management and compliance with NRL and anti-doping requirements.
  • Monitor player nutrition and performance information, maintain confidential records and continually evaluate and improve the Club’s nutrition services.

To be considered

To be considered for this opportunity you will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in Dietetics and current Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) status.
  • Significant experience delivering performance nutrition services within elite or high-performance sport, with professional rugby league or elite team-sport experience highly regarded.
  • Proven experience developing evidence-based nutrition programs, conducting individual athlete assessments and delivering tailored interventions.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of contemporary sports nutrition, including performance fuelling, hydration, body composition, recovery and rehabilitation, with an understanding of the differing needs of male and female athletes.
  • Practical experience in athlete food provision, menu planning, game-day nutrition and supplementation, including a strong understanding of supplement risks and anti-doping requirements.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and work effectively with players, coaches and multidisciplinary Medical and Performance teams.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and changing schedules within a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
  • High professional standards, sound judgement and discretion when handling sensitive player information, together with a commitment to continuous improvement and the Brisbane Broncos Values.

Note: All applicants must hold a current Drivers License, Blue Card and/or WWCC to be considered. Please clearly articulate this in your applications.
