Are you passionate about aquatic facilities and community service? The Town of Port Hedland is seeking an experienced and dynamic Aquatic Supervisor to lead our team and manage the operations of our esteemed aquatic centres. This is your chance to dive into a meaningful role that impacts the community and enhances the quality of our aquatic services.

As the Aquatic Supervisor, you will be at the forefront of ensuring operational excellence and the highest safety standards. We're seeking a leader with a strong focus on safety, customer experience, and people management with relevant qualifications and experience in aquatic facility management. Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Overseeing the day-to-day operations and maintenance of pool plant and aquatic facilities.
  • Ensuring patron safety and delivering an exceptional experience to all visitors.
  • Maintaining the operation of plant equipment and facilities to the best standards.
  • Providing leadership, direction, and support to a team of Aquatic Duty Managers, Lifeguards, and Pool Attendants.
  • Managing staff rosters, professional development, and re-accreditation of certifications.

Work Related Requirements

The preferred applicant will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol assessment to be considered for the role, as well as possess:

  • National Police Clearance.
  • Current 'C' class driver's licence.
  • Rights to work in Australia.
  • Current First Aid Certificate.
  • Royal Life Saving Society Pool Lifeguard Certificate.
  • Pool Manager's Certificate of Competency or other Health Department of Western Australia endorsed qualification, that enables you to operate a public swimming pool.
  • Leisure Institute of WA (LIWA) Accreditation (or willing to obtain).
  • Certificate to 'Operate Self-contained Breathing Apparatus in an Aquatic Facility' (or willing to obtain).
  • Tertiary qualification in recreation, fitness, education programming or similar with demonstrated experience in a similar role.
