AusCycling is the nation’s peak riding and cycling body, representing more than 5 million Australians who ride bikes. Formed in 2020 from 19 state, territory, and national bodies, AusCycling is responsible for programs, projects and initiatives that encompass BMX, Track, Mountain Bike, Road, Para and recreational.
We help school kids learn to ride, we stage more than 500 events each year, we nurture clubs and create pathways, and we are responsible for the training, welfare, and performance of Australia’s Olympic, Commonwealth Games and World Tour athletes.

Team Purpose
The NSW Operations Team has responsibility for the planning, coordination, management and overall delivery of AusCycling events in NSW. This role aims to achieve key organisational objectives, contributing to an exceptional experience and services to members.
Position Purpose
The State Operations Lead - NSW is responsible for delivering exceptional events while supporting clubs and administration of the sport alongside supporting day-to-day operations in New South Wales.
Responsibilities
The following responsibilities are indicative requirements of the role and are not intended to represent an exhaustive list of all requirements.
Events and Sport Administration:
- Lead the delivery of events throughout NSW, including: managing the NSW Operations Team, coordinating the NSW competition calendar, managing event sanctioning, and overseeing the planning and delivery across all disciplines.
- Oversee the work of the NSW Operations Team in delivering state-level events in NSW. Attend events where directed and manage the delivery of events to a high standard.
- Promote service standards for all events in NSW, including maintaining relevant event standards and supporting clubs to develop their event delivery capability.
- Support AusCycling communications and marketing activities by coordinating event communication with event participants and stakeholders, and supporting marketing activities as directed.
- Oversee operational and management planning, risk management practices and policies, and resource planning.
- Manage the delivery of the NSW state teams for road and track, including overseeing the operation of the selection panel, coordinating and supporting team personnel and overseeing budgets and finance.
- Support the delivery of AusCycling Academies in NSW for road cycling, track cycling, BMX racing and mountain biking.
Club and Workforce Development / Participation:
- Under the direction of the Executive General Manager - Transformation, build and maintain strong relationships with clubs throughout NSW. Support organisation-wide club engagement and club development activities as they pertain to NSW.
- Support the Clubs and Community team to coordinate, promote and deliver programs and initiatives that encourage participation in cycling, including workforce training, Come and Try sessions, and the AusBike program.
Other Duties :
- Manage relevant NSW grants through application, negotiation and delivery stages. Coordinate the delivery of NSW grant commitments.
- Be a key contributor to the communication, marketing and business development strategies, working alongside internal teams and external agencies as required.
- Other duties as directed by Executive General Manager - Transformation.
