About the role

This is a part-time role that includes some weekend and evening work.

The Head Doctor will be responsible for managing injury/illness of the playing list including referrals, triage, game day management and follow up.

The position must maintain the highest level of professionalism and ensure the health of the players is managed safely and effectively to allow the Werribee Football Club to successfully compete and perform to a State league standard.

Key areas of focus for the role include:

• The successful planning and delivery of all aspects of medicine regarding the health and welfare of the playing group.
• Game Day management of injured players.
• The ability to work within a multidisciplinary team of Physiotherapists, Strength and conditioning coaches, dietitcians and other high performance staff

Qualifications & experience

• Experience in an Australian Rules Football doctor role.
• Demonstrated organisational skills.
• Proven leadership capability.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Sound understanding of, and expertise in, modern Australian Rules football.
• Strong emergency management medicine
• Sound sports medicine knowledge
• Controlled in a pressured environment, calm and measured when dealing with crisis situations.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
• Capacity to promote and deliver a high performance culture.
• Strategic in thinking and practice.
